Do you remember pulling off packets of Big D peanuts to reveal the sexy girl on the display card?
Beverley was the first model to be launched onto the Big D nut display cards and she is fondly remembered for her glamorous support of Big D in the 1970's and 1980's.
Over the course of ten years she was photographed in a variety of different locations including tropical jungles, James Bond sets and Caribbean beaches.
The Beverley era peaked in 1984, with Big D launching two special edition Los Angeles Olympics cards with Beverley posing as both a boxer and Olympic relay star.
Beverley retired from the Big D cards in the late 1980's and pub goers, nationally, mourned her loss. Whilst letters were received from around the country demanding her return, a climate of political correctness in the 1990's deemed it inappropriate and the pub-goers cries went unheard.
However, in 2001, Big D moved into new ownership and number one priority was to bring back the Big D girl! It was a landmark campaign and the challenge was to reinvent the campaign in a cheeky yet, inoffensive style for the 21st century.
In 2002, Page 3 model Ruth Higham was introduced as the new Big D babe.
Ruth Higham made the perfect partner for Big D. and she is still a regular face on Page 3 of The Daily Star.
In 2006, Malene Espensen was crowned as the new Big D girl, following a national search for a girl to 'front' up the brand. Big D teamed up with the Daily Star to search for a new buxom beauty and during February 2006, lustful lads were invited to vote for their favourite page 3 beauties via text. The gorgeous 25 year old 34GG glamour model was picked from a shortlist of five other girls as her big personality and big assets out shone all the others! As a result Malene will now be featured on Big D pub cards across the country.
At the same time, Big D has invested in a stunning new look for the brand including an upgraded logo, vibrant new packaging and striking pub cards featuring Malene. The new image has had an overwhelming response from the national consumer media, the licensed trade press and, more importantly, the pub goers, who are thrilled to see Malene behind the bar.
The Big D range includes salted peanuts, dry roasted peanuts, Mixed Nuts & Raisins, cashew and chilli nuts and is available in a variety of pack sizes from snack-sized 50g packs through to 200g, 400g, 500g and 3kg pack sizes for parties and food service use.
All the leading wholesalers, van sales operators and cash and carries stock Big D at very competitive prices. Big D continues to offer the best on display prices for a nationally recognised and distributed nut brand.
